The Royal Mail could do with some postmen like that in their sorting offices in Essex. In December 2006, I posted a Christmas card to a correct address in Sible Hedingham, Essex. The Post Office used to tell us to "Post early for Christmas", so I did, but the card arrived two months later, in the middle of February!
Apparently it was delayed because it had no post code and no post town. There is only one town called Sible Hedingham in the whole of the UK and maybe it's not a "post town" but surely "Essex" gave them a clue about where it might be.
I know that letters with no post code go second class but I think that two months to travel less than 50 miles is taking 'snail mail' a bit too far.
