Sir Paul cheerful at divorce hearing

A cheerful Sir Paul McCartney arrived at the High Court today for the second day of his divorce battle with Heather Mills.

He wished the gathered media “good morning” as he strode into Court 47 on the second floor of the Queen’s Building, a minimalist 1960s edifice reserved for private family hearings.

The manner of the former Beatles star, who is said to be worth £825 million, was in sharp contrast to a serious-looking Miss Mills, who ignored the media as she entered the court.

The case, which began yesterday, will be strictly private but is believed to be a preliminary hearing before the start of the main action.

Sir Paul arrived at the court by car, and was ushered into a car park used mainly by judges.
