ABERSOCH A man has died after his boat capsized during a dinghy championship in North Wales. The victim, who has not been named, was recovered by a coastguard inshore lifeboat crew off Abersoch, Gwynedd. A woman who was also competing in the championships was rescued and is recovering.
A spokeswoman for North Wales Police said: “A man has died at the scene. North Wales Police can confirm the two people were taking part in the National Laser Dinghy Championships in Abersoch.”
The competition, the Laser 4000 Nationals, started on Saturday. It is organised by South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club.
