Prince Harry explains his role as a Forward Air Controller. He is in charge of calling in and giving final clearance for air strikes on Taleban targets. The job also involves long hours scrutinising minute details of surveillance footage beamed from aircraft flying over enemy positions to a laptop terminal, dubbed "Taleban TV" or "Kill TV".

Prince Harry, Diana's dear youngest son co-ordinating bombing raids on the front line in Afghanistan. Unbelievable. I look at his photo in his uniform and I see Diana in her protection gear stepping carefully through land-mine areas in her work to rid the world of land-mines. She was the Queen of Hearts who stood for peace, not war. She visited and consoled the sick and injured in hospitals, all the children who had lost limbs. I'm sure she would be very concerned to say the least, to know her youngest son had been given this job. It is in total contradiction to the work she herself was doing.
Harry really has been brainwashed if he truly believes "that his late mother, princess Diana, would have been proud of his deployment."

To Ian: Yes, because having an elected president solves all a country's problems.
What about the PM? Elected, and guess what? Far more real power than the Royal Family either has or exercises. If you're unhappy with the state of the government, a new PM is what you need (please).
Prince Harry's job for the past ten weeks has been the exact same as any other Forward Air Controller in Afghanistan. Just because one is a member of the Royal Family does not make all of one's personal accomplishments "marketing," nor does it make them any less meaningful than anyone else's. While I may not support the war, I certainly support the troops, and the prince is precisely that: a British solider who deserves acknowledgment for choosing to fight for what he believes in, just like every other solider there.
Exactly as already said, the prince cannot help who his parents are, and he should hardly be penalised for it.
Jess, Trenton,
Ian from Solihull, Harry cannot help who his parents are and should not be criticised for this. He should instead be commended on how he turned out in character, despite his priviledged upbringing. He is putting his life on the line for something he believes in.
Name withheld, london,
What is his job? - marketing for the royals.
Who are they? - spawn of their parents, as we all are, except they are inbred.
Take charles windsor (please) - his university college invented a lower pass degree level to avoid failing him. Has anybody else since performed as badly?
We need an elected president.
Ian, Solihull, UK
