Mr Walters also recorded a narrative verdict, with the same cause of death, in the case of Leigh Jenkins who, the inquest heard that Mr Jenkins was severely affected by the death of Mr Price, his best friend.
His mother, Beverley, said that in the last weeks of his life her son was plagued by images of his face and a had expressed a desire for them to "be together".
"He was unable to sleep and had to keep the light on in the night," Mrs Jenkins said. When not working in West Wales, he had visited his friend’s graveside every day.
In a statement read to the inquest, she also said that Leigh had visited his GP about depression when he was 19.
She said that about a year before his death he went to see his doctor again about pains in his stomach and palpitations. During examination, it was found he had high blood pressure and a defective kidney which was shrinking.
The inquest was read a statement made by Ryan Price, who invited Mr Jenkins and a few other friends for drinks at his flat on the evening of June 2 last year. He said Mr Jenkins initially seemed in good spirits, but became emotional later on in the evening after using the computer and talking about the death of his friend "Dicey" (Allyn Price).
Mr Price said he left him there to sleep off the effects of alcohol while he went to return a DVD to a friend some time between 1am and 1.30am. He returned to his flat at 3am and assumed Mr Jenkins had left after he called out his name without any response.
Mr Price said that before going to bed he went over to his bedroom window to call his cat and saw Mr Jenkins’ face on the other side.
"I thought he had been joking and then I saw there was something coming from the top of my window and it was on Leigh’s neck," said Mr Price.
"I thought it was a bungee rope though I wasn’t sure. I put my hand out of the window and felt Leigh’s face and it felt cold."
The pathologist said that the alcohol and amphetamines in Mr Jenkins’ system, together or alone, could have affected his judgment. Mr Walters said: "Leigh Jenkins hanged himself while under the influence of alcohol, MDMA and MDA".
The coroner also said he would not use the word suicide in the case of Mr Morgan, who had been drinking before his brother Christopher found him hanging on January 5.
