Princes William and Harry: "We should like to thank the members of the jury at the inquests into the deaths of our mother and Dodi al Fayed for the thorough way in which they have considered the evidence.
“We agree with their verdicts, and are both hugely grateful to each and every one of them for the forbearance they have shown in accepting such significant disruption to their lives over the past six months.
“Both of us are much indebted to the coroner, Lord Justice Scott Baker, for his unfailing courtesy, and for all the consideration shown by him and his staff not only to us but to all those involved in this hearing.
“We are particularly grateful to Trevor Rees, and to others who came forward to give evidence - in many cases reawakening their painful and personal memories.
“Finally, the two of us would like to express our most profound gratitude to all those who fought so desperately to save our mother’s life on that tragic night.”
Mohamed al Fayed: "The most important thing is it is murder. I’m not the only person who says they were murdered. Diana predicted she would be murdered and how it would happen. So I am disappointed."
“The French and the Scotland Yard inquiries were wrong. These inquests prove it. They said it was an accident and their findings are now dismissed.
“The jury have found that it wasn’t just the paparazzi who caused the crash, but identified following vehicles.
“Who they are and what they were doing in Paris is still a mystery.
“They didn’t hear from all the witnesses. It’s shocking to me that French police, senior officials, paparazzi and pathologists refused to give evidence.
“I’ve always believed that Prince Philip and the Queen hold valuable evidence that only they know. They were not even questioned, but they should have been. No one should be above the law.”
“The MI6 witnesses told us very little. I still believe they really know what really happened. Instead, I’ve had to sit for six months and listen to the coroner’s accusations against me and all those witnesses who said it wasn’t a simple accident.
“I feel as though my character and belief - that I’m entitled to have as a father - have been on trial.
“Diana and Dodi were taken away at the prime of their life, when they were at their happiest. They looked forward to a future together, and I’ll always mourn their loss, to me and to the world.”
Jacques Langevin, a paparazzo arrested at the scene. “It is strange for me, because, as photographers, we have to share the blame. The conclusion [of the police inquiries] was that it was an accident. So I don’t understand why the jury is talking about the photographers.
“I think [the Princess and Mr Fayed] were used [to photographers]... all their lives they had a lot of journalists behind them. It was part of their life, so it wasn’t extraordinary to have photographers surrounding the hotel. It was a normal situation. What is not normal is this is the accident. I don’t think the photographers are part of the accident.”
Nikola Arsov, another paparazzo questioned by police, said that he was not responsible. “No. Absolutely not. We were being branded as criminals. It could even have been dangerous for me to go [to the inquest]. I think it was a waste. They found no new evidence or proof, nothing. As for blaming the photographers, it’s just wrong. It was the driver, it was alcohol, it was speed - it wasn’t us.”
Rosa Monckton, the late Princess's friend: "I think there’s a lot of [the Princess's] life that has come into the public eye that should never have been there. That’s been a very unfortunate side-effect of this inquest. Overall, I feel very sorry for [Mr al Fayed]. One must never forget that he lost a son. I just hope now that he will find some sort of peace."
Lord Stevens, the former Metropolitan Police commissioner: "Mr al Fayed has said that he will accept the verdict of the jury. The verdict has been clear. They have said that they are absolutely sure that there is no conspiracy in relation to this matter."
Paul Stephenson, Scotland Yard's Deputy Commissioner: "I think we now have to soberly reflect upon a clear verdict, and wish and hope that this now brings some sort of closure to this matter so that people can go back to grieving in private and remembering in private."

This is such a waste of time and money! She died because she got into a car with a drunken, drugged driver and didn't buckle her seatbelt! How difficult is that to understand? If she had buckled her seatbelt she would have lived, same with Dootie!
