Rebecca Logie, 19, from Chorley, Lancashire, known to friends and family as "Becci". A keen dancer, who had worked in a bar in Manchester to finance the trip. She had been due to start an English degree at King's College, London, in October, and wanted to work in the media.
Miss Logie wrote about her forthcoming on her personal weblog, last updated on February 27, when she wrote: "One month from today I will be flying across the world and I can't really begin to contemplate how amazingly different it's not only going to be from England, but from Europe and the culture that I've always been in.
"Only today has the realisation and beginnings of anxiety actually started to set in, as things such as finishing work (next week!!) vaccinations and attempting and failing (I am so annoyed) to cancel gym memberships become reality."
Her father Robin told the Chorley Guardian newspaper: “She loved life. Everybody liked her and she was very popular. She lived life to the full. I don’t want anybody to be put off by what happened to our daughter - it was an accident.”
Indira Swann, 18, of Maidenhead, Berkshire, was the youngest victim. She leaves parents Louise and Greg.
Her boyfriend Harry Felton, 19, reportedly travelling in Thailand, left a message on her Facebook page this morning reading simply: "I love you."
Ms Swann used the social networking site to keep her friends updated while she was away, and had written about a rough bus journey she endured on a trip to the volcano of Cotopaxi. “I was sick on the bus - the rockyest bus I’ve ever been on, it drove through a river!” she wrote.
