London A set of ten new stamps celebrating some of Britain's best-known cathedrals will be released today. A miniature sheet of four stamps marks the 300th anniversary of the completion of St Paul's Cathedral. The six other cathedrals chosen for the issue are Lichfield, pictured left, Belfast, Gloucester, Westminster, St David's in Pembrokeshire and St Magnus Cathedral in the Orkney Islands.
Julietta Edgar, the head of special stamps at Royal Mail, said: “The level of detail achieved on the stamps is quite astonishing. The interiors of these cathedrals have been captured in breathtaking detail.”

It looks rather as if these stamps deliberately celebrate some of Britain's *not* best-known Cathedrals. What about Wells, Durham, Coventry, Liverpool, etc?
Jenny, Cambridge,
Someone might even think that Christianity was important to the UK - better withdraw the stamps quickly before that error is made!

This is terrible. Don't they know these Cathedrals were built with absolutely no regard to 'Elf 'n Safety? What sort of example are we setting for children when we celebrate buildings put up without proper regulations, and mostly likely without adequate input from stake-holders?
