Hyde Park The spirit of Lady Godiva rode again in Hyde Park, Central London, when a group of women re-created her 11th-century protest with a naked lap of the park's horse track. The event was held to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Support Centre in Oxford.
Lady Godiva, a noblewoman during the reign of King Canute, is said to have ridden naked through Coventry in an attempt to stop her husband's cruel treatment of the people of the city. The ride was organised by the film director Vicky Jewson, who directed a modern retelling of the story recently.

It is great that women have become liberated. If they are willing to show it all and not be arrested, then this proves the point..It would have been nice to be there to see them ride the horses. A bike ride around Britain should be next.
Jim Wills, Brisbane, Australia.
There never was a crime of 'indecent exposure', only 'exposure' as contained in successive Sexual Offences Acts - includng the current one (2003) which Mr Brown appears to think doesn't exist.
And of course it applies equally to women as to men.
John Lassiter, Telford,
No such thing as "indecent exposure" that law went in 2004.. besides WHAT is indecent about the human body.. have you not watched Ch4 "how to look good naked" and of course there is the World Naked Bike Ride in london on 14 June.. 2007 saw 1000 with police cooperation!
ian brown, Gravesend, UK
I have recently been treated for breast cancer and use my local Maggie's Centre. It provides marvellous support for both patients and their families and is a great asset to the grounds of my local hospital. It's great just to be able to pop in, make a cuppa and sit down for half an hour.
Linda, Fife,
Were they all arrested for indecent exposure, or does that only work for men?
Joe Bloggs, Brighton,
Can we have the view from the other side please?
Chris, Birmingham,
Well done girls - wanted to join you but the pony I ride is too naughty to be trusted and had no wish to dumped in the dirt with no knickers on!
