London The Eurosceptic millionaire Stuart Wheeler promised to fight on after the High Court blocked his attempt to force a referendum on the European Union Lisbon treaty.
Two judges rejected his claim that the Government should keep its promise to hold a referendum.
The judges said that they found nothing in his case to cast doubt on the lawfulness of ratifying the treaty.
Mr Wheeler, 73, a spread-betting tycoon, was refused permission to appeal, but said that he would apply to the Court of Appeal himself.
In the meantime, British ratification of the treaty will proceed.

Simple solutions No 1......... Let everyone in Europe have a referendum. If the majority say yes, end of story, but if they say no?

I personally assisted in funding Stuart Wheeler in a small way and I am sad and disappointed that his action has failed but then it was bound to fail, as the government and justice system would be hand in glove on such a contentious issue. Nothing must stand in the way of The United States of Europe

This is the treaty that requires unanimous approval and has been rejected by Ireland.
Surely we are democratic and the EU controllers will not change the rules now that it has been defeated, that would make it a dictatorship?
I do not have faith that the EU politburo will play fair here.

It is obviously time for the talking to stop and for the public to begin taking positive action against not only the current government, but also those in opposition parties and the House of Lords who feel the wishes of the public can be ignored.

This guy "Stuart Wheeler" is just another NEOCON agent just like Declan Ganley who is chief executive of Rivada, a telecommunications company. Mr Ganley has said that the company has only been involved in domestic rescue and disaster operations, and helping US military.

I hope he wins. If you make a promise then publicise that promise through a manifesto, then thats sounds pretty much like a contract and a promise you should be held to....
