One of the women involved in sadomasochistic sex parties with the international head of motorsports told a court today that there was no Nazi theme to the romps.
The witness, named only as Woman D, was speaking on the second day of Max Mosley's lawsuit against the News of the World, which published video, pictures and a front page story about an orgy he held with five women in the basement of a specially procured flat in West London.
He is suing for breach of privacy, taking particular exception to the newspaper's description of his activities as a "sick Nazi orgy".
“I did not see anything Nazi,” said Woman D, who is a student in her 20s, but cannot be named for legal reasons.
“I am particularly appalled at the accusations that our scenarios had any Nazi connotation or overtones. No Nazi images, uniforms or material were used.”
Asked by David Sherborne, junior counsel for Mr Mosley, about her view of the News of the World’s description of the activities being “grotesque and brutal”, she replied: “Well, grotesque, I do not think so ... It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I enjoy it.”
A German woman, who dressed up in a Luftwaffe jacket to take part in the orgy, later told the hearing that she had been frustrated and angry to be labelled a Nazi.
“I’m very upset and offended because it is an insult and offence if a newspaper equates a German with being Nazi - my grandparents were not members of that party,” said Woman B, who cannot be named.
“It makes me so cross and angry. Nobody on this planet can make me do something like that and our friend did not suggest anything like that.”
Mr Mosley has refused to resign as the president of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) over the newspaper report. The son of the 1930s fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley, he admits leading a secret 45-year S&M double life but denies any Nazi influence.
He said that his sex parties were conducted in cod German accents because he enjoyed the harsh sounding words, not because he had Nazi fantasies. He told a packed court today that if he wanted to invoke fascism he would not have invested in expensive high street brands for the women taking part in his sex sessions.
“Had I wanted a Nazi scene, I would have said I wanted one and A would have got some of the inexpensive Nazi stuff from the joke shop that provides uniforms and would not have gone to Marks and Spencer and got quite expensive jackets.”
