Attend an evening with Andre Agassi
Lady Rose Windsor, the 28-year-old daughter of the Duke of Gloucester, the Queen’s cousin, was married yesterday to George Gilman, the son of Peter Gilman, a former director of Leeds United football club.
The bride, who is a film art assistant, wore a tiara that belonged to Queen Mary, the wife of George V and her great grandmother, above a couture white dress for the ceremony at the Queen’s Chapel in St James’s, London. Almost as many eyes were on Kate Middleton who confirmed her growing position in the royal fold by turning up without Prince William, her boyfriend.
She wore a pale blue jacket with a duck egg blue dress and a black feather fascinator.
Other guests included the Princes Royal and the Earl and Countess of Wessex. The page boy was Jesse Grylls, aged five, son of Bear Grylls, the television survival expert.
Unlike Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, the couple refused a lucrative offer by Hello! magazine to cover the wedding.
Three years ago, Rose’s elder sister, Lady Davina, married a New Zealander, Gary Lewis, a former sheep shearer and the first Maori to marry into the royal family.
