Manager stole
Peter Schmitz, 47, of Cheltenham, a senior project manager with Gap, was jailed for 3½ years for stealing £412,000 from the clothing chain to maintain his lavish lifestyle. Give it a break
One of the longest-running slogans in advertising, “Have a break, have a KitKat,” is to be retired. Nestlé Rowntree, makers of the chocolate wafer, has been using the phrase since 1957. It will be replaced with “Make the most of your break”. The old slogan was no longer enticing the public to buy KitKats, the company said.

Coastguards have alerted shipping in the Solent to avoid hitting a dead whale. The carcass of the 80ft mammal is floating off Stokes Bay, near Gosport, Hampshire, in one of the country’s busiest shipping areas. Whale strandings on the South Coast are fairly rare; most strandings take place on the East Coast.
