Home comforts lure Leopard Man from the wild

A pensioner known as the Leopard Man because his entire body is tattooed with spots has given up his life in the wild. For 20 years Tom Leppard, 73, has lived in a bothy on a stretch of shoreline near Kyleakin, on the Isle of Skye. His home had a roof of plastic sheeting and a bed made from polystyrene blocks. There was no electricity and he made a weekly canoe trip to the shops. Now he has moved into a one-bedroom house in Broadford, Skye. The former special forces soldier said: “I was perfectly happy in the bothy but I’m like everyone else - I’m getting too old for that kind of life.”
