Young pretender
Who are you backing for the 2020 US presidential election? My money would be on George P. Bush, photogenic son of Jeb Bush, the Florida State Governor, and nephew of the incumbent.
But you could put a couple of quid on Matt Cooper, a 21-year-old student who has put down his marker on his 2020 campaign website. Matt is ambitious but, according to the Constitution, no one under the age of 35 can stand for the White House.
Matt’s policies seem liberal: pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, anti-death penalty. But the only photograph on his site is a pose in front of the Stars and Stripes, so he could still stand for the Republicans.

Party time
If you want to get involved in politics for the British election campaign, now’s the time to begin. You could join one of the major parties, such as Veritas, perhaps, the party expected to be announced by Robert Kilroy-Silk after his exit from Ukip, or just start blogging furiously on issues of the day, which is more fun.
One site for source material is Downing Street Says, which gives brief resumés on what is said when the Prime Minister’s official spokesman briefs the press lobby every day. It looks a little unloved and undervisited but should pick up when the election is called. The site is from the same stable as faxyourmp and theyworkforyou, two other voter-friendly offerings.
