The strident tone of bloggers refusing to be cowed by the London bombs contrasted with the confusion that had earlier clouded events.
Bloggers around the city had earlier struggled to make sense of the situation developing in the capital.
"The streets are heaving with people, all following each other in the vain hope that someone at the front knows where they're going," said one London blogger.
"Just taken mobile calls from my very scared and frightened 11 year old and her equally distraught mother who are caught up in this morning’s events," he added.
Europhobia blogged from his office. "My overlords have just realised the office is half empty and are trying to find out where everyone is," he said
"Haven't seen a bus go by in half an hour or more. Everyone walking and looking a tad worried."
He continued: "Eyewitness confirmation from a friend - the entire top of the bus in Russell Square has been ripped off."
Bitiful.com, who works near Whitehall, said: "At work we have been instructed not to leave the building until further notice.
"Yeah, and to go where? 100 yards left to the Houses of Parliament or 10 yards right to Trafalgar Square? Not even our blast-proof windows can stop me feeling like a target."
The Johnnie Moore website said "news travels ultra-fast - but is also confused and rumour-laden.
"Already, I've had people contacting me to check I'm ok ... What a world we live in. Intimately connected and interdependent. Vulnerable to the behaviour of lunatics, yet also with the resilience of interconnection.
"I'm sitting here trying NOT to follow every news bulletin. This is my current, possible futile, way of resisting being terrorised. And, of course, I am anxious, and concerned for all those who are suffering as a result of these bombers. It's hard to fathom the thinking of those who perpetrate these attacks and right now I'm way too angry to try.
