A Labour MP appears to have stepped beyond the boundaries of parliamentary netiquette with a spoof YouTube video of David Cameron inviting voters to sleep with his wife.
Siôn Simon, the long-haired MP for Birmingham Erdington, also mimmicks the Conservative leader offering to give his children away in the film, which prompted an angry reaction from Tory backbenchers and from Jack Straw, the Labour Leader of the Commns.
Wearing a baseball cap and "Power" T-shirt, Mr Simon calls himself "Dave" and is shown in a lounge speaking directly to the camera.
He says: "Yo. My name’s Dave, yeah? Thing is, I’m just like you. I’ve got the same worries, the same troubles, the same cares, the same trouble and strife.
"Want to sleep with my wife? That’s cool. Come down, check it out, we’ll sort it out. Safe."
He adds: "I’ve got two kids - kid one, kid two. You like them? Take one - that’s cool."
The video, which is just over a minute long, appears to have been posted Mr Simon's Labour colleague Tom Watson, the blogging West Bromwich MP who posts under the name "baggymp" and has also made a couple of short films mocking Mr Cameron.
The two were last in the news after being named as the prime movers in a letter sent to Tony Blair last month urging him to get out of Downing Street.
Mr Simon's video outing is a send-up of the Tory leader’s WebCameron project, for which he has been filmed talking in his kitchen while doing the washing-up.
Peter Luff, Tory MP for Mid Worcestershire, said Mr Simon should be "thoroughly ashamed of himself".
"When you go over the top like this, you bring all of us in politics into disrepute. Anyone in politics is fair game. But this goes beyond what is acceptable and Sion should be thoroughly ashamed of himself,." he said.
"He should get it taken down. It’s his wife and children. I just can’t believe that a fellow MP would stoop so low. It’s highly offensive. Imagine how anybody else’s wife and children would feel if this was said about them. It’s an insane thing to do."
Andrew Mitchell, Tory MP for Sutton Coldfield, also thought Mr Simon had gone too far.
"Poor Sion has obviously gone mad," he added.
They were backed by Mr Straw, who said: "We have to ensure that political discourse is at a reasonably high level and avoid personal attacks"
Mr Simon today defended the video on Sky News and said that he would take it down immediately if Mr Cameron was offended - but not if the "usual suspects" were doing the complaining.
But sources close to Mr Cameron, who married his wife Samantha in 1996 and has three children, said the Tory leadership was "relaxed" about the video.
One official said: "Siôn Simon isn’t someone we take too seriously. The real WebCameron is far more interesting."
