Prince Harry was cheered on by children as he won a race during a school visit, on the second day of a trip to New York.
The two-day tour is the 24-year-old Royal's first formal overseas engagement and will culminate with a star-studded polo tournament on the city's Governors Island.
The glitzy event, with an A-list guest list including rapper Kanye West and actresses Kate Hudson and Chloe Sevigny, will raise money for Sentebale, a charity that help orphans in the southern African region of Lesotho, founded by Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.
Before the final event the two princes visited a children's centre in Harlem. Prince Harry sat in on a maths class and joked with pupils that he was "always the worst" at the subject while at school.
He was then taken to a cooking demonstration in the school cafeteria where children had prepared an African meal, before heading to the sports hall where games of hockey and American football were taking place.
There Harry and Prince Seeiso raced against each other, running to sit on chairs with balloons perched on top.
The closely fought sprint ended with both princes bursting their balloons, but Harry claimed the win holding his arms aloft and accepting the cheers of the pupils.
He said: “It is my first trip to New York, so hopefully I will come back to visit again. It has been fantastic.”
On the first day of his engagements the prince laid a wreath at the Ground Zero site, led a naming ceremony for a garden commemorating British victims of the 9/11 attacks and visited a centre for limbless War veterans.
