August 25, 2006 – Molly is picked up by her elder sister Tahmina outside her school in Stornoway in the Western Isles. They travel to Glasgow, meet their father Sajad Ahmed Rana and board a plane for Lahore in Pakistan.
August 28 - Northern Constabulary announce they are investigating the disappearance and possible abduction of Molly. The same day Molly’s grandmother Violet Robertson says she fears Molly has been kidnapped and taken by her father to Pakistan for an arranged marriage.
August 29 - Molly’s mother and legal guardian Louise Campbell says her daughter seemed to be enjoying life in the Western Isles and makes an emotional appeal to her former husband for the girl’s safe return.
August 30 - Family friend Bashir Mann claims Molly went to Lahore in Pakistan of her own free will as she wanted to live with her father.
August 31 - Glasgow MP Mohammad Sarwar flies to Lahore to meet Molly.
September 1 – Molly tells Mr Sarwar she has gone to Pakistan voluntarily and says she plans to stay in the country with her father. Her brother Omar Rana says claims her father has kidnapped her are false.
September 2 - A court in Lahore grants Molly’s father temporary custody after she signs a statement saying she arrived in Pakistan of her own free will.
September 6 - The High Court in Lahore issues a protection order which rules Molly cannot be deported to the UK for at least two days. Molly’s father is granted temporary custody until September 30.
September 19 - Louise Campbell lodges a petition with Lahore’s civil court alleging Molly was illegally taken from Scotland to Pakistan by her husband and elder daughter.
September 26 - Sajad Ahmed Rana files court papers claiming no Muslim girl can be placed with an apostate mother in a sexually permissive culture. He is ordered by the court to surrender Molly’s British passport and his temporary custody of her is extended until October 21.
October 3 - Molly says she suffered racial abuse in Scotland and never wants to go back. Her father says Ms Campbell was a good mother to Molly and their three other children but did not accept their Islamic faith.
October 8 - Police in Pakistan assure the court they have no plans to detain or deport Molly.
October 9 - Lawyers argue over whether the court hearing should take place in Pakistan or Scotland.
October 10 - The High Court in Lahore hears Louise Campbell is planning to fly to Pakistan to give evidence in the custody battle. Molly tells the court her mother refused to allow her to perform Muslim prayers and made her eat food forbidden by Islam.
October 27 - It emerges Louise Campbell has been refused legal aid to fly abroad for the hearing.
November 11 - Judges say they will make a decision on the case by the end of the month.
November 29 - The High Court in Lahore rules Molly Campbell is to return to the care of her mother in the UK.
