Following are portraits of the five prostitutes who have been murdered or are missing in Suffolk:
Murdered Anneli Alderton, 24, of Colchester, Essex. Last seen taking the 5.53pm train from Harwich to Colchester on Sunday December 3. Naked body found in woods at Nacton on Sunday although another motorist might have seen it last Thursday. Police say she worked as a prostitute in Iswich. Believed to have no fixed address.
Murdered Tania Nicol, 19. 5ft 2in, slim, with shoulder-length brown hair. Vanished on October 30. Naked body found in pond at Copdock on December 8. Miss Nicol grew up on a housing estate on the outskirts of Ipswich, where she lived with her mother and brother, now 16. Neighbours did not realise that Miss Nicol was working as a prostitute. They remember her as a chatty, smiling child who grew into a well-spoken, polite teenager.
Murdered Gemma Adams, 25. 5ft 2in, petite with long blonde hair. Vanished on November 14. Naked body found in a stream at Hintlesham on December 2. Her family lives in an Ipswich suburb. Her parents describe her as a normal child until the age 17 when she became addicted to heroin. She is thought to have turned to prostitution to fund her drug habit. She lived in Ipswich with her boyfriend.
Missing Paula Clennell, 24, 5ft 7in with shoulder-length mousy hair, blue eyes and a spotty complexion. Police say she spoke to a friend late on Sunday. Detectives say she uses a number of addresses in Ipswich and worked as a prostitute. Her father Brian, from Berwick, has spoken of his shock that his daughter, who he has not seen for several years, was working as a prostitute and says that he hopes she is just 'lying low'. She has three daughters.
Missing Annette Nicholls, 29, 5ft 3in, slim and with shoulder-length brown wavy hair. Reported missing yesterday following publicity about the murders. She has not been seen since last Tuesday.
