As fears spread that Britain's worst serial killer since the Yorkshire Ripper was on the loose, she headed back to Ipswich's red light district to earn money to pay for her drug habit. She was last seen on Saturday night.
Today, detectives admitted that it was a "natural assumption" that one of the two bodies discovered in woodland near Ipswich today was Ms Clennell. The other body is believed to be Annette Nicholls, who also worked as a vice-girl. She had been missing since last week.
In an interview with ITV News, Ms Clennell said the killings had made her "a bit wary about getting into cars". She admitted that she had "a couple of nasty experiences" including being beaten up once, but that they had not put her off.
Detectives said Ms Clennell, who has three daughters, used a number of addresses in Ipswich and worked as a prostitute.
Earlier today, her father Brian Clennell, from Berwick, made an emotional plea for his daughter to return home.
Speaking on Sky News hours before the discovery of two more bodies he called on "pervert" punters to come forward to help police with their investigation.
He said: "So far there's nothing come from the police.
"Although Paula made a phone call on Sunday night she hasn't been heard from since and all I can reiterate is that her mother and her sister love her very much and want her back and her three nieces, well two nieces and a nephew, want her back.
"We all love you, there's nothing to hide, everyone loves you. Please make a call to me or your niece and your nephews and just say that you're alive."
Mr Clennell continued: "And in this moment in time I must send my heart out to the families of those that's been identified in this horrific, perverted, psycho, sicko campaign.
"This man needs to be caught and I think the truth lies with the punters. The fat, smelly perverts. They should come forward and stop this murder that's going on.
"I didn't know that Paula was on drugs as heavy as she was. I'm shocked and saddened and numb that she actually had sex for sale.
"Paula was lovely member of society. She was mischievous, but she was a wonderful person. She loved children, she loved pets. She was a loving, kind daughter.
"I think that once she got to Ipswich she fell in with the wrong crowd, that must be it.
"Please contact your mam or Alice or the police which is a private number and say that you're ok. Please go home, that's all I can say."
