The husband of Nisha Patel-Nasri, a police special constable murdered last year, has been arrested in connection with her death.
Fadi Patel-Nasri, 33, who ran a limousine-hire business, was picked up by police at an address in North London this morning.
Another man, who was arrested in connection with the inquiry in December last year and bailed to return today is also being questioned at a west London police station.
Mrs Patel-Nasri, 29, a volunteer policewoman for four years, was stabbed once in the groin with a kitchen knife after leaving her home in Wembley, northwest London, in her nightdress late at night in May after hearing a disturbance outside.
Police have since recovered the 30cm knife used to kill her.
Her neighbours ran to her aid after hearing “a horrendous, dreadful scream” and found her barefoot, dressed in pyjamas and bleeding heavily. Her last words were: "Where am I?"
She lay dying just yards from her front door and a thick trail of blood on the pavement clearly marked her stumbling steps before she fell.
Scotland Yard revealed that the incident was the second time in a week that Mrs Patel-Nasri had challenged intruders. A few days before she had chased off three young black men from outside her home.
Mrs Patel-Nasri, who ran her own hairdressing business, was thought to be alone in the house when she heard a disturbance outside.
Two other men, Tony Emmanuel, 40, from East Ham, East London, and Jason Jones, 35, a doorman, from Manor Park, East London, have already been charged with her murder.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “A fourth man has been arrested this morning in connection with the murder of Special Constable Nisha Patel-Nasri
“The 33-year-old man was arrested at an address in North London and is currently in custody at a West London police station.”
