A survivor of the July 7 London bombings says that she fears for her safety after a year-long cyber-harassment campaign.

The abusive e-mails and blog postings by Felicity Jane Lowde, who is on the run after being convicted in absentia last month but is still leaving postings on her own blog, include accusations that Rachel North’s accounts of her survival in the Piccadilly Line carriage where 26 people were killed were not “genuine”, and that she was “insincere” about being raped in 2002. A man was given a 15-year sentence for the crime.

Ms North, 36, who married last month, set up rachelnorth-london.blogspot.com, to help victims of trauma. She said: “The woman writes about things that she knows will hurt me, I assume things that she thinks will break me.” The venom of the messages “obviously leaves me fearful as to what this woman could do”, she said.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that a warrant had been sent out to all forces for Lowde’s arrest after she failed to appear for trial before Stratford magistrates in East London.
