How stupid must you be to trust someone outside of your family with your children. Sure abuse happens within the family, but come on now! "He seemed so nice". Time for people to wise up! You'd trust a man with a little girl?

I don't see the point of jailing someone for their sexual orientation, it's like jailing someone for being gay. All that happens is that they come out with more predatory skills and more contacts!

They do need to be removed from society. How, i do not know. But do we care more about the safety of children or the rights of men?

It is accepted within the medical profession that these people can never really be changed. Why do we keep pretending otherwise? Why keep locking them up and then letting them back out to prey on children again?

I think it's about time for this country to step up the senctences.. All sorts of criminals now walk free and the victims are left to deal with it on daily bases. Especially this kind of criminal who has done incredible damage to both his vitcims and their parents and if he can walk free possibly in 9 years, there's no justice done. I do think bringing back lot tougher sentences, even capital punishment in severe cases... When something goes so wrong in someones head, that he can rape innocent children, or kill people, why should we waste our money on keeping them alive in nice prisons that are far from prisons, more like holiday camps....

Everyone should have human rights initially, but surely in cases like these where guilt is absolutely indisputable and incontrovertible the perpetrator should lose certain of these rights, and at least be put away for life if there's no way to prevent him from re-offending. There doesn't seem to be a way to cure or rehabilitate paedophiles. He's probably permanently destroyed the lives of at least some these children, 9 years is hardly just.

It is a dirty little secret that many normal people become sexual preditors after sustaining a Frontal Lobe Traumatic Brain Injury. Very common in this day and age, given the number of people being hurt in car accidents, as well as other moving vehicles. My husband accidently fell off a three story building and the change in his personality was remarkable and horrifying, a kind man suddenly turned into a dangerous monster. TBI's are one of the most common injuries coming out of Iraq and I fear for the families of these people when they suddenly have to live with someone who has had his ability to controll his sexual impulses erased. The problem is well documented among mental health professionals just not talked about in the media and by the government who doesn't want to acknowledge that there is a cause and effect. I would love to know if Barron experienced some sort of head injury before he started his heinious peditory actions.

Send him to his end and all others like him should be vigourously warned that they too are being watched and will surely be punished in the same way.
We appreciate the work done by the police and others to catch this man. Now we should put him away for good.
But this is also an example of why as parents, we must also be enquring all the time and watch our children carefully and work very hard with them until they are grown up to fend for themselves, without taking away their one time childhood life from them !

It is truly sickening. These men groom the child, its parents and in the cases of fathers who sexually abuse the children , even the partner/school/nursery/friends have been successfully groomed. Most child sex abuse is perpetrated by a close family member or close friend and the mode of 'grooming' and terrifying the child into silence is highly effective.
In the case of the family courts, the child is often at greater risk, as children are not listened to in this arena, and if an innocent and protective mother highlights physical/sexual abuse of her children, it is rarely, if ever heeded and the woman risks imprisonment and/or loss of custody to the abuser. Family Law is 'private' and therefore, it is a contempt to dislose data about a family case either anonymously or publicly. Outrage should be directed also at the family court infrastructure - including judges, Social Services, CAFCASS, et al, as they wilfully permit these abuses to continueand the public never know

every football ground around the country should bring out a gallows at half time for people like this. just think of the attendance boost for local football never mind the savings the tax payer will have for not having to feed and house these monsters! and kids watching the game with thier dads are going to be less likely to commit these sorts of crimes in the future if they see this sort of punishment dealt out! why should we fork out £500 per week to keep them alive?

The law and justice? Is there such a thing? In reality, it is not best to think that this kind of person will ever be allowed back in our community. As he decieved so many before, he will learn his mistakes and be able to decieve so many again.

Hopefully the cure/the injection to cure sexual urges will be avaliable soon, and be injected into rapists and paedophile's alike! So they can be locked up, then be released without fear of attacking more innocent children.

But what is more likely, is the sickos will appeal on the human rights law, then not be injected on the lines of some human rights, and then we will just have to live with the fact these scum have more rights as criminals, as we do as as free men.

We know there are sick people out there, and we must take the responsibility to warn our kids of this fact.
