200 leads on internet paedophile

A photo of an unidentified man is issued, following digital enhancement by Interpol, October 7, 2007. Interpol have launched an unprecedented worldwide public appeal to track down a man shown sexually abusing children in images posted on the Internet.

GERMANY Interpol received more than 200 responses within 12 hours of releasing a picture of a prolific paedophile, left, who digitally altered his image to disguise his identity. Photographs of the man abusing 12 boys aged between 6 and the early teens in Cambodia and Vietnam had been posted on the internet. A swirling effect on the images hid the man’s face.

German federal police experts worked with Interpol to unscramble the images. They were released after Interpol failed to identify the man during an initial investigation across 186 countries.
