A Norwegian student who disappeared after a night out in London has been found murdered.
Martine Vik Magnussen, 23, had been out with friends last Thursday at the Maddox Club, a celebrity haunt in the West End of London.
She was last seen in the club at 3am on Friday and was thought to have been going on to a late-night party at a private address. When she failed to return her flatmates raised the alarm.
Ms Vik Magnussen’s body was discovered dumped in rubbish yesterday at an address in Great Portland Street, less than a mile from the Mayfair nightclub. The cause of her death has yet to be established.
The student, who was studying at Regent’s College in London, was from Oslo. Her parents, Odd Petter Magnussen, an information technology consultant, and mother, Kristin Vik Ronnaugh, have flown to Britain to identify her body. Scenes of crime officers were continuing a fingertip search at the apartment last night.
It is understood that Ms Vik Magnussen had no previous links to the address where she was found. CCTV from the Maddox Club is being examined in the hope that it could contain clues to Ms Vik Magnussen’s killer.
Her flatmates and friends set up a website page pleading for help to find her after she disappeared.
The Facebook page, which included a photograph of Ms Vik Magnussen, told how their “dear friend” had vanished after their night out. They said that on the night of her disappearance Ms Vik Magnussen, a blonde who was 5ft 4ins (1.65m) tall and weighed 7.8 stone (50kg), was dressed in designer clothing.
Amy Winehouse, Keira Knightley, P Diddy and Madonna are among the celebrities said to have visited the Maddox Club, which opened last April.

I know out of personalexperience that Norwegian students tend to party harder than British students, and definetly in a different way, but still it should be possible even for Norwegian students to get safe home after a Friday night clubbing.
Why do you draw a picture as Martine as a party-loving soman, the pictures you post are probably not representative for hte way MArtine behaved most of the time. And how important is it that her father is a rich man?
Why not focus on the real case, the mysterious death of a young student.

Unfortunately the combination of drugs, alcohol and opportunism amongst some unscrupulous predators that can be found at these places really is a recipe for disaster. This time it went to far and the result was disastrous. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.
