A dossier emerged yesterday revealing every tragic moment in the short life of Baby P. Shown to the jury at the trial of his mother, her boyfriend and their lodger, it details 78 times when Baby P was seen by social workers, health visitors and doctors in Haringey, North London.
It offers an insight into his transformation from a healthy baby into the victim of horrific abuse that was repeatedly missed.
The dossier begins on March 1, 2006, when Baby P was born. Initial entries tell of routine trips to the doctor for nappy rash, but by October 2006, when his mother had begun a new relationship, the visits take a more sinister turn. In December, the boy was admitted to hospital with bruising and his mother was arrested and released on bail.
On February 2, Maria Ward, a council social worker, visited on February 22 and made ten visits in six months. Others involved include Agnes White and Sylvia Henry, who claimed that she arranged a foster care place but was overruled by a manager. Haringey Council have denied this.
