Paul Gadd, who performed under the stage name Gary Glitter, has launched an appeal against a travel order imposed after he was convicted of sex offences against children.
The faded rock star is allowed to travel internationally, but he is required to inform the police when he intends to leave the country.
Gadd was served with the order after returning to the UK from Vietnam where he served almost three years in prison for sex crimes involving two young girls.
He was not present today at Harrow Crown Court, in north west London, where his legal representatives heard that an appeal date was set for February 19 to 20.
Under the terms of the current order, Gadd, 64, must inform police if he plans to be away for more than three days.
At an earlier hearing on August 22 at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, Gadd was required to register as a sex offender. As well as the Vietnamese sentence, he has a prior conviction for possessing child pornography, for which he served two months in jail in 1999.
In March 2006 he was given a three-year sentence by a Vietnamese court for abusing two girls aged 10 and 11.
He was deported from the country at the end of his prison term and flew to Thailand and Hong Kong. When he was refused entry to both countries, he returned to the UK.
