Two schoolboys allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl at a party, filmed the attack on a mobile phone and sent the footage to friends.

Three 20-second clips showing the attack were obtained by the Sunday Mail, which described the images as "sickening". It said that the girl appeared to be extremely drunk.

It is alleged that one of the boys had sex with the girl while the other acted as cameraman.

The two boys, both 16-year-old pupils at a secondary school in Perth, have been arrested by Tayside Police investigating accusations of sexual assault and the possession and distribution of indecent images.

Police were called in after the girl's parents were informed that the video was circulating in the school. Officers have conviscated the mobile phones from third and fourth year pupils as they continue their investigation.

The girl is reported to have told her family she has no recollection of the incident. Her face is hidden throughout the footage.

In a statement, the force said: "We can confirm that two 16-year-old males have been reported to the procurator fiscal in Perth.

"The report is in respect of charges relating to the possession and distribution of indecent images and a sexual assault alleged to have taken place at an address in Perth on Saturday May 6."

A pupil at the school told the Mail: "It looks as though it has been filmed in a room in someone's house. It is quite dark.

"It's just so awful for the girl's family. She's an ordinary, pretty teenager and her relatives are devastated. She has been saying she was drunk when it happened."
