Two children have been found dead in a parked car in the outskirts of Glasgow.
The bodies of the boys, aged two and six, were found in a vehicle in the city's Lennoxtown district yesterday afternoon. A man was found at the scene and taken to hospital.
Strathclyde police said they were treating the deaths as suspicious, but would release no further details. Inspector Jan Connolly said: "Police are following a positive line of inquiry."
Two ambulances were called to a car park on Crow Road, were the bodies were found, at about 5.30pm. The area is a well-known beauty spot overlooking Ben Lomond and the Campsie Hills north of Glasgow. It is popular with families and sightseers and is normally busy at the weekend. The car park remained cordoned off last night.
Brian Scott, a barman at the nearby Campsie Golf Club, said: “We heard ambulances tearing down the road. At first, we though it was a road accident. People in the bar were distraught when they heard that it involved children.”
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “Two vehicles attended an incident in Crowe Road, Lennoxtown, at 5.33pm, after receiving a call from the police. We then took a male patient to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
The spokesman said he had no further information about the man’s identity, age or condition.

Whenever there's a case like this, whether it involves a father or a mother, it always emerges that the parent's attempts to maintain contact with their children following separation have been obstructed, the courts have made matters worse, and the parent despairs of a solution. Won't we ever learn?
