Morgan Tsvangirai, the leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), flew to South Africa yesterday to seek help in finding a solution to the stalemate after Zimbabwe's disputed presidential and parliamentary polls.
Mr Tsvangirai has claimed to be the outright victor in the presidential poll, but results are yet to be released and the ruling Zanu (PF) party is insisting on a second round. Mr Tsvangirai met the ANC leader Jacob Zuma in Johannesberg. President Mbeki has said there is no need for outside intervention in Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe's High Court again put off an opposition petition demanding the immediate release of election results. A hearing will take place today over whether the case can be heard.
Two South Africans, one British and one US journalist were released on bail of Z$300 million (£4) after being charged with covering the elections without government accreditation.

MDC have won there is no two way about it. But Tsavagirai should come out clearly about the land issue he should not except the white to use him a screen saver, he can still use the willing buyer willing seller system? But he should not donate our land to white that land belong to blacks, else he will just rule a divided nation straight into war, these is not what I want for my brothers next door. The situation clearly tell the world that Zim has the most intellegent, honest, and humble people who can fight a weapon with ideas and win after all.
For ZANU-PF Semba Mokani is a better candidate than Hon. R. Mugabe next time remember that before the elections.

Malcolm in London, UK, has summarized the situation in Zimbabwe, and Mr. Mbeki's complicity in a conspiracy of silent support of dictator Mugabe, with a clarity often missing from these postings.
Edward B Ryder IV, Greenlawn, NY/USA
Mbeki should take note of the adverse publicity accompanying the Olympic torch marathon. His supportive stance on dictator Mugabe will surely impact negatively on the soccer world cup to be hosted in SA in 2010. South Africa benefited greatly from externalised pressure for its fight for freedom. He would do well to return the compliment and do something more positive in the name of democracy and human rights. South Africa will likely see some backlash for his duplicity and support for Mugabe to still be in office in 2010
