A chilling prediction of the attacks at the Jokela high school was uploaded to
the internet at 11.45pm on November 6, the night before a man went on a
rampage killing eight people.
The site, albaani.org, contains a document entitled "attack information"
detailing when and how the attack will take place as well as photographs of
a young man posing with a pistol.
It also includes a "manifesto" of ramblings asserting that "humanity
is overrated" and that its author, who signs himself Pekka-Eric
Auvinen, is "ready to die for a cause I know is right, just and true".
The "attack information" document states that the targets at the "Jokela
High School Massacre" will be Jokelan Lukio (High School of Jokela),
students and faculty, society, humanity, human race". The author wrote
that his attack would be politically motivated and he did not want it to be "called
only as 'school shooting'".
The document also states that the gunman would use a semi-automatic .22
calibre Sig Sauer Mosquito. It claims that the perpetrator would be Auvinen
and that his aliases were NaturalSelector89, Natural Selector, Sturmgeist89
and Sturmgeist. Sturmgeist89 was the username of the person who uploaded a
video to YouTube that predicted the killings.
Another document, entitled "Natural Selector's Manifesto", is a rant
about the decline of humanity that proposes variously that "stupid
people" should be enslaved or killed, or that the entire human race be
put to death. The author claims to be an existentialist and suggests that
anyone who disagrees with him is "too arrogant and closed-minded to
understand".
He also wrote that he told no one about his plans. "Don't blame anyone
else for my actions than myself. Don't blame my parents or my firends."
