The Hague: The Dutch authorities arrested six men and a woman on suspicion of belonging to the terrorist Hofstad group. Johan Remkes, the Interior Minister, said they were an acute threat to several politicians and the intelligence services. They will appear in court in Rotterdam on Monday. Thirteen other people are in custody awaiting trial charged with belonging to the Islamist group. (AFP)

A murder delayed

New York: A man jailed for three years for shooting a teenager in 1973 has been arrested for murder after his victim died more than 30 years later. Ralph Alini, 54, shot José Colón, then 15, in Brooklyn. Colón, who was left paralysed, died last year. (AFP)

Lawyer sacked

Kiev: Svyatoslav Piskun, Ukraine’s Prosecutor-General, has been sacked. He had been attacked in recent months for failing to advance investigations, including an inquiry into the murder of Georgiy Gongadze, an internet journalist, in 2000. (AFP)
