If it happens in england I'm sure the buildings would still collapse under 7.9 mag earthquake. Learn some basic physics, its not like 5.0 mag, or 6.0 or 7.0, its a big 8 mag earthquake. None of the houses in england(since most of them are small and created by bricks!) could sustain this mag.

For the last 20 years, of all the natural calamities - Katrina, tsunami, Kansai earthquake etc; no government had responded so quickly as the Chinese, no rescuers had given more blood sweat and tears to a shaken region as the Chinese.
