Video has emerged of the moment a team of Turkish journalists came under fire in South Ossetia while covering the escalating conflict between Russia and Georgia.
A reporter was shot in the eye when their vehicle came under attack while driving through the South Ossetian capital, Tshinvali, on Sunday.
In footage shot by a camera rolling in the back of their car, Levent Ozturk, driving the team, said: "Friends, I got hit on the head. I am OK now, but in a few minutes..." Guray Ervin, a cameraman, was shot in the shoulder.
The team can be heard reciting final prayers as they try desperately to reverse out of the firing line. As the shooting comes to an end, they wave through the battered sunroof of their truck and shout "Press! Press!"
After the incident Mr Ervin said: "Some 10-15 soldiers sprayed our car with weapons for at least 4 or 5 minutes. I could not move the vehicle since the engine broke down. We shouted at the soldiers that we were journalists. We also took our t-shirts off and waved them out of windows. Some 4 or 5 minutes later, soldiers approached us."
It appeared their vehicle was targeted by Ossetian combatants.
The pair were treated at a Russian military hospital in Tshinvali before returning to Turkey, the Anatolia news agency reported, quoting diplomatic sources. The two other members of the team escaped unharmed.
In a separate incident near the besieged Georgian town of Gori, Tamara Urushadze, a correspondent for Georgian state television, was shot at by a sniper while conducting a live report. The bullet clipped her left arm, leaving her bleeding.
After being hit, Ms Urushadze took cover behind a vehicle with her cameraman before being given first aid by a Reuters television producer who witnessed the incident. While being bandaged, Ms Urushadze continued her report, informing viewers that she had been hit.
As one of her team belatedly gave her a flak jacket, she said: "I have been hit by a bullet. You can see I am scratched here. Most likely it was a sniper. It has most likely been a light weapon since it's a minor wound."
Russian troops entered Georgia at the weekend after the Georgian army launched an assault on the separatist region of South Ossetia. The two sides have since agreed a ceasefire but Russian troops continue to blockade the strategic town of Gori and have been accused of using cluster bombs against civilians.

Do you really believe that Russian troops continue to blockade the strategic town of Gori and have been accused of using cluster bombs against civilians? Georgians killed people in our country. Russia saved us. If you still belive in russian agression you are stupid idiots.
RinaL, Tshinvali, Ossetia
The Kremlin will deny this happened but how many journalists have been murdered in Russia since Putin came to power? Putin foments a pathological reaction to any form of criticism. How many Russians have been dragged off the streets and thrown in jail for voicing their dissattisfaction with Putin?

"Running march, let's" - was pronounsed definitely with clear English accent and intonation, like in the films about James Bond. And russians would never say "running march", it sounds a bit strange these days.
Ivan, Moscow, Russia
at the end of this film sounds in russian "Running march, let's" - but not even with georgian but with english accent. I russian and heard over and over again this accent. That is to say, this production or provocation on the part of georgian and their instructors from USA
Sergey Lasunov, Electrostal, Russia
I speak Russian, and from the accent of the man shouting at them aggressively to run, run towards the end of the clip I would say these were definitely Ossetian "soldiers".

Konstantin, Novorossiysk,
If I was from Osettia and watched the media's slanted view of the conflict , I would probably have a dim view of journalists also. Here in the USA it took about a week for any mention of the Georgian aggression. Only the Russian attacks were mentioned.
Gene, Vineland, NJ
It's not only journalists who have been shot at you know. Why make a song and dance about them. How about some reporting on the Georgian attack upon the innocent citizens of South Ossetia for once?
Allan, Glasgow,
Yet again, an article framed to denigrate the Russians & Ossetians. May one enquire why you didnt use the footage of FOX news journalists running for their lives from Georgian forces? They stated to camera "They don't listen to orders. They fire on civilians, from what we have just seen."
Matt, Birmingham, UK
Leyla,
Read the story again, you're incorrect in your statement. It was Ossetian combatants that were doing the shooting, not Russian soliders.
Greg Hass, Isisville, UK
The Russians have to be stopped now while there still time. they will not stop them selfs. and talks will not work to. the only thing they understand is brute force.
Dmytro, London, uk
This is quite usual behaviour for Russians and their allies. In Chechnya on and aftre the war they killed many journalists. who weren't agree with Russian imperialistic politics
