It was a stunt straight out of Jackass. German police are hunting a skateboarder who reached 100km per hour on a stretch of autobahn near Stuttgart.
Germany is renowned for its swathes of motorway with no speed restrictions but this skateboarder picked a spot with an 80kph limit and police now want to issue him with a speeding ticket.
The video of the helmeted skater in a black and red body suit, posted on YouTube, shows him gain speed by tailing a motorcycle. He then breaks free and swooshes under bridges and along sweeping curves in the motorway hitting speeds of up to 100 km an hour while a cameraman on the back of a motorbike films him.
German police are trying to catch up with him after spotting the stunt on the video-sharing website. He is wanted in connection with breaking motorway laws and endangering other motorists.
The video appeared online in June, according to a report in Stuttgarter Nachrichten, but police didn’t become aware of it until weeks later.
Police believe the wanted man is a professional stuntman but want to fine him for breaking the speed limit.
"We put out an all-points bulletin and have received information that gives us useful clues as to who the man may be," Uli Stöckle a Goeppingen police spokesman said. "We are particularly concerned about copycats who may imitate the stunt, putting their lives at risk."
Gary Hardwick holds the Guiness World Record for the fastest skateboarding after he hit a downhill speed of 62.55 mph - just over 100kph - during a race in Arizona.

This late on the piece only the Germans would be after the skateboarder in an attempt to fine him. I hope he doesn't get caught.
