SAN JUAN A Kuwaiti freed from Guantanamo Bay carried out a suicide car bombing in Iraq last month, the US military said, confirming what is believed to be the first such attack by a former detainee at the US detention center in Cuba.
Abdallah Salih al-Ajmi took part in one of three suicide bomb attacks in March aimed at Iraqi security forces in the northern city of Mosul, Navy Commander Scott Rye, a US military spokesman in Baghdad, said. At least seven people were killed in the attacks. Al-Ajmi’s American lawyer said that incarceration at Guantanamo may have turned the Kuwaiti into a terrorist. But the US military says that he was already an enemy combatant when he was brought to Guantanamo in 2002 after being captured in Afghanistan.
Up to 36 former Guantanamo detainees have resumed hostilities against the US, including some who have been taken back into custody or killed, the Pentagon said.
Al-Ajmi is apparently the first to have become a suicide bomber.
“There is an implied future risk to US and allied interests with every detainee who is released or transferred from Guantanamo,” a Pentagon spokesman said. (AP)

Internment without trial increased the amount of terrorism in Northern Ireland... when did injustice ever lead to justice, when did a wrong ever lead to a right?

What would one expect after so many years in a concentration camp, flowers, hugs & kisses? What would that do to any innocent man or woman?

If you'd been detained in the US concentration camp at Guantanamo since 2002, wouldn't you feel just a little miffed with the United States of Torture? Those to whom evil is done do evil in return. Reap what you sow.
