Bomb hoax closes railway line
Army bomb experts said three suspicious objects found on window sills in the Castlerock area of Co Londonderry were hoaxes. The alert forced the temporary closure of the railway line between Coleraine and Derry.

American and French authorities were last night unable to confirm a French newspaper report that claimed Osama Bin Laden died of typhoid in Pakistan a month ago. The article was based on a leaked intelligence document quoting a Saudi security report.

Anti-war march Anti-war protesters demonstrated in Dublin yesterday against the continued use of Shannon airport as a military refuelling stopover for American aircraft on the way to Iraq. The demonstrators, who also want US and British troops to withdraw from Iraq, marched from Parnell Square and down O’Connell Street.
Terror suspects ‘denied care’
AMERICA is withholding basic medical treatment from terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay to force them to co-operate with interrogation, a detainee has claimed. The claims are detailed in letters to Clive Stafford-Smith, a British lawyer, by Sami al-Hajj, a Sudanese cameraman for Al-Jazeera television, held without charge for more than four years.
Raise minimum driving age: poll
The minimum age at which young people should be allowed to drive should be raised, according to a poll for The Sunday Times. The YouGov poll of more than 1,500 people shows that only 25% think the minimum driving age should remain 17, while 70% want it raised, and a third say it should be 20 or above.
