As the real presidential candidates wound up their second debate on Wednesday, Paris Hilton has continued her fake presidential bid by releasing a second video online.

The American socialite is joined by the actor Martin Sheen – “the greatest fake President”, who played a Democratic US leader in the TV show The West Wing – to talk about her campaign while in the kitchen at a Hollywood party.

She discusses her ideas on the economy, the war on Iraq and 'FoPo' which, she explains to a perplexed Martin Sheen is: “Foreign policy, silly!”

“Running for fake president is a little daunting,” Ms Hilton tells Mr Sheen, who nods in agreement before dolling out advice for how to run for a fake presidency.

“Being a fake president is a lot harder today than it was when I was a fake president,” says Mr Sheen, who has played the American president four times.

Ms Hilton then talks policies.

“Iraq has a Democratic government that is asking for us to leave,” she says. “It seems that we've done our job and we should bring our troops home safely.”

On the economy, “this is the biggest depression since The Notebook,” she says of the 2004 tear-jerker film, adding that the government should “lower inflated interest rates so it's not impossible for (people) to pay their mortgage.”

Mr Sheen, a strong Democrat who has declared his support for Barack Obama, then wishes Ms Hilton luck, saying: “you’re going to make a great fake President” as his son, actor Charlie Sheen, pops into the kitchen and promises to “fake vote” for her.

Waving the actors off, Ms Hilton purrs: "See you at the fake inauguration, b------.”

The spoof video is the second to be released by Ms Hilton during the presidential campaign. In the first, which was put online in August, she mocked Republican candidate John McCain and announced her own candidacy, promising she was “like, totally ready to lead”.

The 27-year-old heiress said in a statement that she hopes the video, released on the website funnyordie.com, inspires people to consider the issues and vote in the real presidential election.

“I hope that my political opponents take in consideration the points that I have addressed because I feel that they are important and, as well as, that my generation and the new young voters should become more involved with our current issues and speak their voice through voting,” Hilton said. “This is the most important presidential election in decades and voting is the only way that you have a voice for change.”
