As the world prepares to bid a less-than-fond farewell to President Bush, the founder of the political dynasty is hinting that Washington may not have seen the last of his family.
George Bush Snr, the former president and father of the current White House occupant, today urged his second son to seek election to the Senate next year in Florida. “I’d like to see him run,” he said. “I’d like to see him be president some day.”
Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida, has long been regarded as his father’s favourite. “He’s a guy who really has a feel for people, the issues in Florida and nationally and his political days ought not to be over,” said the ex-president.
“I think he’s as qualified and able as anyone I know.”
Mr Bush, however, conceded, that “now is probably not the time” to launch another White House run, because people may have concluded “there have been enough Bushes in there”.
Mr Bush and his son George W are the second father and son in US history to serve as presidents. John Adams was the second and his son, John Quincy Adams, the sixth. No father has ever been followed by two sons into the White House.
George W. Bush will leave office on January 20 with approval ratings hovering just below 30 per cent in many polls, some of the lowest of any president in history.

We have been fortunate in this country to have had upstanding quality people like those in the Bush family spend their lives in service to this country. I wish that Senator Prescott Bush of Connecticut had lived long enough to see his legacy of son and grandsons in executive positions. Bravo!

No thanks, America doesn't do dynasties.

The failure of Hilary to be selected, the lack of public support for Caroline Kennedy's senatorial debut and the monumental mess left behind by George W seems to indicate that the Americans are realising why dynasties are a bad idea and accident of birth is not a good basis for assumption of power.

Shame really, Jeb always seemed like the one with real talent.

Jeb Bush WILL BE President of the USA in 2016, as foretold by Nostradamus - which many mistook for the Kennedys. Let's face it, Joe Kennedy wasn't President and neither was Bobby. There will be one more Bush in the White House after Obama. Then comes the decline of America. Mark my Words!

Bush seems to have missed the fact that George Jr has virtually destroyed the Republican Party during his eight years in office, and that no support will emerge for a clan which didn't end abortion, allowed gay unions, lost the GOP majority in the Congress, and drove the US into bankrupt spending.

If Bush 1 had done his job (get Saddam) and not raised taxers then we'd never had 1)Clinton (recall Clinton only ran because all the big Dems were afraisdof Bush 1's popuilarity ratings coming out of Gulf War) 2) Bush 2 and 3) Iraq war. NO MORE BUSHES _PLEASE!!!!!

I want to win the lottery, but that ain't going to happen either. After 12 years of the Bush family dragging down the U.S., they should just fade, fade away.
