Octuplet mother Nadya Suleman has signed agreements for each of her 14 children – aged four months to eight years old - to earn $US250 (£150) a day to star in a reality television show.
The contracts, filed on Friday in the Los Angeles Superior Court, guarantee the children will collectively earn about $250,000 (£150,00) over three years.
Ms Suleman created headlines around the world when she gave birth to healthy octuplets in January – only the second set to be born alive in the US. The babies, and her six other children, were all conceived via IVF.
The 33-year-old single mother, nicknamed “octomum”, was unemployed at the time and living with her parents.
Ms Suleman has signed the reality show deal with European production company Eyeworks, which lists Breaking Bonaduce and The Biggest Loser among its television credits.
The show is slated to begin filming September 1.
The payments outlined in the contracts say Ms Suleman's children will collectively earn $125,000 (£76,000) for 36 days of shooting in the first year of production, $75,000 (£46,000) for 21 days in the second year and $50,000 (£30,000) for 14 days in the third year. Any extra shooting days will be compensated at the same rate.
The contract also states that 15 per cent of the gross compensation will be deposited by Eyeworks into a "Coogan Trust Account," as required by California law. The monies can't be touched until the children turn 18 or become legally emancipated.
Ms Suleman gave birth to the world's longest-surviving set of octuplets on January 26. The medical curiosity of their delivery turned to public outrage when it was learned that the single, unemployed mother had been caring for her six other children with the help of food stamps and Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters.
Ms Suleman said previously that some of the disability money was spent on in vitro fertilizations, which was used for all 14 of her children.
The news of Ms Suleman’s reality TV show deal comes after the public demise of the marriage of Jon and Kate Gosselin, an American couple whose family life with their eight children (including one pair of twins and a set of sextuplets) was played out in front of the cameras on the American reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8.
The Gosselins are currently involved in a bitter divorce battle after announcing their separation last month.
