THE ECONOMIC CRISIS
John McCain: "Americans are angry, they're upset, and they're a little fearful. It's our job to fix the problem. I have a plan to fix this problem."
Barack Obama: "This is a final verdict on the failed economic policies of the last eight years."
THE ECONOMIC FIX
John McCain, announcing a proposal for the government to buy up bad home mortgages and renegotiate terms for distressed homeowners: "It's my proposal, it's not Senator Obama's proposal, it's not President Bush's proposal. I know how to get America working again."
Barack Obama: "The middle-class need a rescue package. That means tax cuts for the middle-class. It means help for homeowners so they can stay in their homes."
TAX POLICY AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS
John McCain: "We can attack health care and energy at the same time. We're not rifle shots here. We are Americans."
"Nailing down Senator Obama's various tax proposals is like nailing jell-o to the wall. There's been five or six of them, and if we wait long enough there will be another one."
Barack Obama: "I think the Straight Talk Express lost a wheel on that one."
"Senator McCain wants to give a 300 billion dollar tax cut ... to the largest corporations ... and CEOs on Wall Street. That is not fair. And it doesn't work."

i think that it was a good choice for Obama to be elected.
He is thinking about the working families. However McCain just thought about all the rich people. Obama knows how it is to have to streach money unlike McCain, he is too rich to care. Barak Obama cares about us who don't have a million!!!!!

How is it that poeple can spend money that they dont have, and it is up to us to bail them out. It is not our fault yet we have to pay. And raising taxes?? What will that do. People work for what they earn. Dont make our country a socialist economy and take that away.
Delight, burns, USA
And indeed, the question is: what are we going to pass on to the next generation? Sen. Obama kept his focus on the the future. Sen. McCain kept looking at the past, citing his dead heroes! Obama looked young and energetic! McCain looked old and frail! The question for America: Past? or Future?
