After a phenomenal response from Sunday Times readers, a 10-strong shortlist has been compiled and it is now up to you to vote for your Sportswoman of the Year for 2004.

To make it easy, you can either telephone or text us with your choice. Voting by text could not be simpler: just key in the first name and send to 84070. For example, if you want Deborah Criddle to become The Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year, just text the word DEBORAH to 84070. You will receive a message back as confirmation your vote has been received. Each text will cost 25p and the service is available on all networks except 3 mobile. Telephone votes will cost a maximum of 25p from BT lines, but this may vary depending on your service provider.

The closing date for the telephone vote is midnight on Wednesday, November 17. The outright winner will be announced at an awards lunch at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London on Wednesday, November 24
