Brendon McCullum belted an unbeaten 80 runs from 28 balls as New Zealand thrashed Bangladesh by 10 wickets in a record-breaking win in Queenstown.
New Zealand reached Bangladesh's total of 93 all out with an astonishing new world record of 44 overs to spare.
McCullum smashed 80 runs off just 28 balls, including six sixes and nine fours while captain Daniel Vettori took five wickets for seven runs.
The win clinched New Zealand's 3-0 victory in the three-match series after its six-wicket win in the opening match at Auckland and 102-run win on Friday at Napier.
New Zealand has never lost to Bangladesh and this victory, completed with 264 balls remaining, was the fastest in history, beating India's ten-wicket over Kenya, with 231 balls remaining in 2001.
Vettori's best bowling return in one-day cricket — his second five-wicket haul for New Zealand — forced Bangladesh's dismissal in 37.5 overs.
But Vettori's fine contribution was overshadowed by McCullum's batting prowess. "My last words to him were 'don't get out'," Vettori said. "It was just one of the most destructive innings you'll ever see."
McCullum then hit the fastest limited-overs half century by a New Zealander — from 19 balls, breaking his own record of 21 balls.
His domination of the scoring - 84.2 per cent of the New Zealand total — was a greater percentage than any batsman in a one-dayer.
Vettori had earlier won his seventh straight toss as New Zealand captain and sent Bangladesh in to bat on a hard, bouncy wicket. The tourists struggled to adapt to the conditions but battled to 41-2 before Vettori, with help from seamers Kyle Mills and Michael Mason, tore the heart out of their middle order.
Vettori bowled three of his victims: Shakib Al Hasan for 10, Mushfiqur Rahim for 0 and Mashrafe Mortaza for two and had Farhad Reza stumped by McCullum for 12 and Aftab Ahmed caught for 19.
McCullum also claimed a catch from Jacob Oram's bowling in an outstanding all-round performance.
Mason, who was called as a late replacement for the injured Mark Gillespie, dismissed dangermen Tamim Iqbal for 12 and Mohammad Ashraful for 25 to finish with 2-21, while Kyle Mills took 2-27.
McCullum then launched an overwhelming, single-handed attack on the bowling and in what proved to be an embarassingly easy victory his opening partner Jamie How faced just 8 balls to finish 7 not out.
