The umpires has no choice but to call the match off soon after lunch after continued heavy rain saturated the playing area even further leaving a series of mini lakes over the outfield.

The fact that Worcestershire were unable to bowl again in the second innings after their very slow over rate in the first meant that they were penalised two points. As a result, Warwickshire took one more point out of the match than their West Midlands rivals despite accruing less bonus points.

Both sides were not unhappy with a draw, given that they remain in the top two positions in the Second Division with both standing an excellent chance of promotion.
