Derbyshire were gaining the upper hand in their east midlands derby clash with Leicestershire at Grace Road as they progressed to 123 for three in their second innings to lead by 109.

Derbyshire let slip a strong position as they slumped from 125 for three to 203 all out.

Sam Cliff took four wickets and Garnett Kruger three for the Foxes, who scented victory after the game appeared to have tipped towards Derbyshire on day two.

Derbyshire lost their last four wickets for 21 runs after the new ball had been taken, and their total of 203 left Leicestershire with plenty of time to secure victory.

Both Boyce and Dippenaar went for their shots after the early loss of Greg Smith. They rode their luck, with Boyce dropped twice before reaching his 50 off 95 balls. He was finally caught at slip, but Dippenaar and Ackerman saw Leicestershire to the win, scoring 25 runs in the first three overs of the extra half-hour.
