Ones to watch
Ronnie Irani (Essex)
Injury may have forced the captain to give up his medium pace but his batting goes from strength to strength. Expect him to target wide long on for runs
Nayan Doshi (Surrey)
One of the earliest spinners to recognise opportunities in Twenty20, he needs only five more wickets to become the first bowler to reach 50 in the competition
Stuart Broad (Leicestershire)
Despite performing at the start of innings when only two men are allowed on the boundary he is the most economical bowler in the competition this season
Stephen Fleming (Nottinghamshire)
The latest New Zealander to figure prominently at Trent Bridge, he shows that elegance does not have to be compromised for quick runs
And if you want more than just cricket...
At 6pm, the crowd will be entertained by music from Sugababes, who bill themselves as Europe's bestselling girl band. They follow in the footsteps of other bestselling girl bands who have lit up Twenty20 finals days. Atomic Kitten were the headline act at the first occasion at Trent Bridge in 2003; Liberty X, featuring the future Mrs Kevin Pietersen, played at Edgbaston in 2004; Girls Aloud did their stuff at the Brit Oval last year.
Sugababes are a bit like last year's Ashes-winning side in that most of the members have changed. Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena are the Simon Jones and Michael Vaughan of the group, losing their places to Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah, although not for reasons associated with having unfit knees. Keisha Buchanan is the Matthew Hoggard of the side, having been with them since the days when they weren't very good. Among the cricket-related hits that Sugababes have had are In the Middle and Run for Cover.
They will be supported by Keedie, who released Jerusalem, the unofficial England cricket anthem, as a charity single last Christmas. There will also be the npower Derby, an obstacle race for mascots, as well as the Admiral Flagettes, a cheerleading troupe. Darren Gough is not expected to join in with the dancing.
