As a Liverpool Supporter I would say he was a pain in the neck! Seriously though he was one of the best midfield players I have ever seen. I never understood why Everton sold him, but I wish it had been to Liverpool! He was an all time great, and I would like to think Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley will shake his hand when they meet him on the great football pitch in the sky.
George Barrow, Wallasey, England
Alan Ball was a truly great player,And a great personality,Didnt see much of him here in Scotland but what we did was magic,My sympathy goes to his family and friends.
Alexander Paterson, Edinburgh, Scotland
I had the oleasure of watching Alan Ball playing alongside Ruud Kroll for Vancouver Whitecaps. Both great players often played as if the ball was on their own personal string. I know he was past his prime, however the skill remained and Ruud Kroll was also aware. Peter Beardsley was also on that team.

as a leeds fan i can honestly say that in the late sixties and the early seventies he was the one player who would have made leeds even better...geat player...white boots and all!
