AC Milan are hopeful they can lure Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko back to Italy.
Shevchenko found it difficult during his first season in the Premiership, and Milan president Silvio Berlusconi is confident he could tempt him into returning to the San Siro. "When I spoke with [vice-president] Adriano Galliani a few days ago, I was given the impression that there was an 80 per cent chance Sheva would return to Milan," he said.
Sheffield United forward Colin Kazim-Richards has completed a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce. He spent less than one year at Bramall Lane, scoring one goal, but has been transferred for £1.275 million. "I know I have made the right decision to come to the biggest club in Turkey," he said.
Fulham are believed to be closing in on former Birmingham City forward Walter Pandiani, and could make a £2m bid over the weekend.
Wigan Athletic have sealed the signing of Rennes defender Mario Melchiot on a free transfer.
Eidur Gudjohnsen could be on his way to Manchester United as part of Barcelona's summer shake-up. The former Chelsea striker will be offered to the Premiership champions as part of a deal to take defender Gerard Pique to the Nou Camp. However, United may not be interested in the deal as they are believed to be chasing Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella.
Barcelona are still trailing Arsenal forward Thierry Henry, but Arsene Wenger wants to take Samuel Eto'o to London as part of any transfer deal.
Another Premiership player who could be heading for La Liga is Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek. He is preparing to leave Anfield this summer, and Real Madrid appears to be his next destination.
Darren Bent's decision to turn down a £17 million move to West Ham United from Charlton Athletic has alerted Liverpool. Rafael Benitez will now consider a bid for the forward, although Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring the situation.
Middlesbrough forward Yakubu has admitted he could be persuaded to leave the club. The Riverside outfit are desperate to hold on to their big name players, and attract three more new names through the doors this summer. "If a big club comes with a very big amount of money, anything is possible," Yakubu said.
Preston North End striker David Nugent says he will not decide on his future until he has finished playing in Under-21's European Championships with England. He is still expected to sign for Sunderland in a deal worth around £7m, but insists the move is not complete. "I've not been in contact," he said. "Obviously there have been links with a few clubs, but obviously I've got to keep on playing in the tournament, doing well and see what happens after that."
