Robbie Fowler has arrived in Australia to discuss a possible move to Sydney FC.

The former England international is being chased by a host of clubs following his release from Liverpool in the summer and the A-League side want him as a replacement for Dwight Yorke, who helped them to the domestic title before leaving to propel Sunderland's successful promotion push from the Championship.

According to his adviser George Scott, Sydney is one possibility being considered by Fowler, who is also being chased by Cardiff City and Leicester City. The Scottish Premier League, however, is an unlikely destination.

"I can't see Rangers or Celtic being an option," Scott said. They have each got too many strikers on their books and would need to offload a couple first.

"The one thing Robbie knows he wants is regular first-team football. We have got eight offers on the table and Robbie is considering the lot of them.

"Could it be at Cardiff? Why not? I think Cardiff, if they have the ambition, is the sort of place Robbie would thrive at."

Cardiff are looking for a replacement for Michael Chopra, who signed for Sunderland yesterday. The Welsh club's chairman, Peter Ridsdale, knows Fowler from their time at Leeds United.
